Meet Dr. Farrell
Dr. Paul R. Farrell is a 1975 graduate of Brown University where he majored in comparative anatomy and histology. He attended The University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and graduated with his D.M.D. Degree in 1979. After a year in General Practice Residency at The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania he was accepted in the Oral Surgery Residency Program at The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania here he completed certification in June of 1983.
Dr. Farrell joined a private practice in Boston and Wellesley Massachusetts. His hospital privileges included The New England Deaconess, New England Baptist, Brigham and Women’s, and the Newton Wellesley Hospitals.
He was also on staff at the Bedford Massachusetts Veteran’s Administration Hospital with a faculty affiliation with the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. He joined Reading Oral Surgery in November of 1984 and completed his certification with the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in March of 1986.
Dr. Farrell enjoys membership in numerous professional organizations. He has served on the executive committee of the Berks County Dental Society. He is currently a Delegate to the Pennsylvania Dental Association. He has served as both a Delegate to the P.D.A and on the P.D.A. State Council on Insurance in the past. He is a member of the Academy of Osseointegration and its local affiliate, the Delaware Valley Academy of Osseointegration. He recently became a member of The International Team for Oral Implant logy, The ITI, and is eligible for fellowship status.
Although he practices the full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Dr. Farrell has a special interest in Implants and all of the associated grafting and reconstructive technologies that are being developed in conjunction with current implant technologies. He teaches regularly at the Drexel University College of Medicine, the Hahnemann Hospital, Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Dr. Farrell enjoys mountain biking, skiing and kayak touring. He is an avid walker. He has coached both boys and, more recently, girl’s Club Basketball, Grades 2 through 6 for the past 14 years.
